Our story

Rosso didn't begin with a vision board. It began with a space — a pizzeria in Amsterdam's Zuidas, already fitted with an oven, already in a neighbourhood hungry for exactly what it had to offer.

For founder Cathy and her team, veterans of Hong Kong's demanding hospitality scene, it was an invitation they couldn't ignore. Rather than impose a concept, they shaped one around what the space wanted to be: a modern Italian pizzeria with the energy of an aperitivo bar — somewhere you'd come for lunch and find yourself still there at midnight, nursing a Negroni.

Rosso is the first restaurant from The Ugly Duckling Group, and the one that set the tone for everything that followed.
